Swag by Asayo is a group gift service, offering customizable swag boxes from Black and Latinx small business owners. Co-founded by Black female entrepreneurs, Andréa Long and Kelley Nayo-Jahi, Swag by Asayo has been merging culture and joy since 2020. With a mission to uplift Black and Latinx small businesses, Swag by Asayo delivers swag boxes that delight.
“Asa” is a Yoruba word that means “culture”—representing not only the diverse small business owners involved, but also the selection of curated products within each swag box.
“Ayo” is a Yoruba word meaning “joy,” which represents the delight customers, vendors and recipients can find in each swag box.
Our Team
Andréa Long
Andréa Long is a Bay Area native who works at the intersection of events, marketing, and diversity and inclusion. Andréa founded Firewood Events, a wedding and private event planning company in 2012. With a focus on logistics and execution, she provides memorable and inclusive experiences to her clients.
Andréa has worked for companies, including Twilio, Lyft, and Rakuten, and she brings the innovation that she’s learned from the tech industry to all of her projects. Andréa has led a number of employee resource group efforts, including through her work as a co-founder of Our Collective, a community resource group for Black and Latinx professionals.
Andréa has a BS in Exercise Biology and a BA in Communication from University of California, Davis. She is a self-proclaimed foodie and cocktail aficionado, and you can often find her trying out new bars and restaurants in Oakland, CA.
Kelley Nayo-Jahi
Ms. Nayo-Jahi is an entrepreneur who runs two additional businesses, Nayo Partners and Body Butter by Kelley. In recent years she has been a leader and thought partner for several social impact start-ups, including Geekwise Academy, Landed, Uptima Business Bootcamp, and Qeyno Labs. She holds a BA in Economics from Spelman College as well as an MBA in finance from St. Joseph’s University.
Kelley specializes in mindful innovation and is a respected connector who excels at cultivating, creating and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. She is viewed within the community as a trusted bridge to opportunities that may not be easily accessible. In everything she does, she brings integrity, wisdom, hope and enthusiasm.
